Departure on an international flight from El Dorado International Airport. It is recommended to arrive at the airline counter at least 3 hours in advance to complete the baggage check-in process.


Upon arrival in Mexico City, breakfast will be provided at the hotel, followed by the start of a panoramic tour along Reforma Avenue. The tour will continue on foot through iconic streets such as Avenida Juárez and Tacuba the oldest street in the city until reaching Constitution Square (Zócalo), where you will be able to admire important monuments and buildings, including the Hemiciclo a Juárez, the Palace of Fine Arts, the Torre Latinoamericana, Plaza Tolsá, Casa Borda, the Palace of Iturbide, the Metropolitan Cathedral, and the Templo Mayor, among others. Accommodation and dinner at the hotel. In the evening, visit to the monumental altars located in the Zócalo.

At the indicated time, departure to San Miguel de Allende, one of the most renowned destinations for its colonial architecture, rich gastronomy, and cultural atmosphere. During the visit, we will tour the Jardín Allende and the historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where the Parroquia of San Miguel Arcángel is located. We will also visit the House of Ignacio Allende and the Temple of San Francisco, considered one of the best-preserved examples of a Churrigueresque façade, featuring gilded interior altarpieces in Baroque style and colonial paintings.The tour will continue with a visit to the artisan market and the La Aurora Factory, a space with galleries showcasing works by local artists, antiques, and design pieces. At the indicated time, return to Mexico City. A walking tour will be conducted to find the best spot along Reforma Avenue to watch the Day of the Dead parade (subject to changes by the government). During the route, you will be able to see floats, giant “Catrina” figures, musical comparsas, and costumes inspired by the celebration. Accommodation and dinner at the hotel.

Note: Please keep in mind that there are no bleachers or reserved seating. The bus will get as close as possible, as multiple road closures occur throughout the city on this day.

At the indicated time, departure to begin the tour, starting with a visit to the Basilica of Guadalupe, the Chapel of the Capuchinas, the Old Parish of the Indians, the Chapel of El Pocito, as well as its gardens and the Church of El Cerrito. A visit will also be made to a shop featuring religious items. Continue toward Teotihuacán, with a stop at an artisan workshop and a visit to the Stone Museum House, where there will be an explanation of semi-precious stones, as well as an artisan workshop, interaction with xoloitzcuintle dogs, and a tasting of pulque, mezcal, and tequila. Free time for shopping. At the scheduled time, we will begin a tour of the bohemian neighborhood of Coyoacán, known for having been home to major figures of the Art Deco era such as Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. There we will visit the Casa Roja museum of Kahlo, which offers an intimate look into the life of the artist and her family environment. Inside, we will see personal belongings, correspondence, her father’s studio, and some of her earliest works. We will then head to Xochimilco, where we will explore its iconic canals. Here we will observe the chinampa system, a living example of traditional agriculture, while enjoying a boat ride aboard a trajinera in a festive atmosphere. During the tour, we will have the opportunity to taste traditional Mexican food. Later, we will depart for San Andrés Mixquic, located in the borough of Tláhuac, a place known for preserving one of the most representative Day of the Dead traditions. This town keeps alive a community-based way of honoring the deceased that blends pre-Hispanic and Catholic elements. The most special moment will be the “alumbrada,” when thousands of candles light up the cemetery, revealing graves decorated with marigold flowers and offerings featuring the favorite foods and drinks of those who have passed away. Families remain throughout the night, accompanying their loved ones, praying, talking, and remembering them in a solemn and spiritual atmosphere. At the end, we will return to the hotel in Mexico City.

DAY 6 • MEXICO CITY – MORELIA

At the indicated time, we will depart for the state of Michoacán, a land renowned for producing some of the best avocados in the world and the cradle of the ancient Purépecha Empire. Our first stop will be the Magic Town of Cápula, famous for the handcrafted creation of traditional clay Catrinas. We will then continue to Quiroga, the birthplace of the iconic carnitas, one of the most representative dishes of Mexican cuisine, made from pork slowly cooked in its own fat, resulting in a distinctive and highly appreciated flavor.

We will continue our journey through the lake towns of Pátzcuaro, Tzintzuntzan, and Santa Clara del Cobre, settings that inspired the acclaimed film Coco. In Pátzcuaro, we will walk through its colonial streets and visit Vasco de Quiroga Square, surrounded by 16th-century architecture. We will also visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Health, the most important temple in the area, and the Public Library, where, if possible, we will admire the mural History of Michoacán, by the renowned muralist Juan O’Gorman. Later, we will arrive in Tzintzuntzan, the ancient capital of the Purépecha Empire and a historic rival of the Mexica Empire. We will visit its cemetery to observe the characteristic decorations in the days leading up to the festivities, as well as the Franciscan Convent, which features one of the largest atriums in the Americas and olive trees that are over 400 years old. Finally, we will head to Santa Clara del Cobre, a Magic Town with more than five centuries of tradition in the handcrafted production of hammered copper pieces, a technique inherited from pre-Hispanic times. We will walk through its streets to visit family workshops and observe the artisanal production process. Accommodation in Morelia. Dinner at the hotel.

CHILD POLICY
